James Cameron's Avatar

Sat Dec 19, 2009, 5:04 AM
:aww: Well its been awhile since I did a nice little movie review of "Avatar"...

 I went to go see this movie around midnight on 12/17/09 without the 3D because IMAX was sold out.

Then I watched it again in 3D just to see the difference last night. The movie was a million times more awesome in IMAX 3-D.

The first time watching the movie was hard because of having to adjust my eyes to see all the details made my eyes hurt. I heard some people were having seizures from just being able to watch the movie while focusing on all those rich details from the fast movement, especially in certain night scenes where it had tons of bright neon colors. I really urge alot of you guys to see this movie in 3D because for some reason the REAL D glass's really helped. The 3D felt natural with those REAL D glass's since it felt like watching an HD movie in the theatre. The CGI was really amazing.... Especially the scenes where Jake and Neytiri were wandering in the jungle at night in 3D. Man I wouldn't mind seeing Karen Chan look like that with that type of realistic CGI. :D

Some critics are saying that the movie wasn't good enough due to the dry acting and cliche storyline that it took from previous films but still the movie was very good and extremely entertaining since the CGI was realistic. I dunno if anyone will be able to top the quality that I saw in this movie. To me, James Cameron is more of a visual storyteller and a curious entertainer. I wish he could be good in all fields of his creativity but the dude has one little flaw of having an ego the size of pandora :giggle: joking* But yeah the movie was indeed entertaining and still very good.

4.5 out of 5 paw prints from Karen* :iconjoseph1105: wink wink... It was entertaining, emotional, powerful and moving...

The movie reminded me of such movies like:

1. Princess Mononoke
2. Dances With Wolves
3. Last Samurai
4. The Karate Kid

And so on etc....

I guess good movies are rarely good when they use a certain formual depicting an underdog character going through a hero's journey to become a man by facing responsiblity, destiny and conquering the forces of evil since these days most people like me can predict the plot this easily ^^;

Still stereo typical hollywood formula which doesn't make me think anything is original anymore. The most original movies till this day is the old black and white movies. Anything after that is just a derivative cliche than something original.... Maybe we shouldn't judge film anymore since people find cliches are more like fetishes to some people since we can't get enough of watching stuff we dream to see in a movie over and over again. To be honest, film should never be graded cause we can never really know how to appreciate it well.

Still all of this can be forgiven since Cameron is my idol in a way and is probably the only director to be able to challenge himself to make these CG blue aliens to make them this believable even in times where they expressed great pain. I was surprised that he was able to pull it off like he did with ALIENS and T-2 Judgement Day. This to me is a pinnacle achievement in realistic 3D effects. Thank You Cameron for sharing your vision with the world.

The movie was awesome, Nuff said... Best 10$ I ever spent ^____^ ;)

I love movies with morals, hidden messages about life, convincing, well thought out characters with heart trying to do good for the world by facing overwhelming obstacles that tackle things that most people are blinded by such as power and greed.

^^ Sharing some wisdom

Sat Nov 7, 2009, 4:55 PM
I came across this video and I found it rather important for others who feel they need direction need to watch this so it shapens there destiny better. [link]

This is kinda like my perspective of the artworld.

Humbleness, kindess, forgiveness, is slowly disappearing from the earth.

Blindness and confusion sure does makes us question who we really are as people.

This is the main reason why I wish there were more real people in the world. I look up to real life heroes everyday. Everyone needs a hero you know. =3

In the 80's thats exactly what I invisioned a successful person should be. They should display qualities of humbleness, kindness, forgiveness, patience, encouragment and concern with caring heart for all people of all races or types. There people who are extremely modest and never brag about how cool they are. There role models we can look up to. I never loved fitting in with the rich arrogant popular types anyway because I would be hurting fans and other people if I did that. I never wanted to lose sight of who I use to be, thus thats why we must be aware of how sometimes we can be blinded by fame and greed. I'm not perfect btw, but I do try to train myself with these principles and life lessons to shape me into a good person one day.

I personally think the fans are better than the artist, without them the artist is nothing in that matter.

Yep

Sorry but I had to scrap alot of my work, I feel its best for me because I haven't really tried when I know I'm better than that. I probably only used 13% of my true potential. I know I can do way better than the stuff I have in my gallery. Its just I try so hard not to do realism because I hold back since I love stylish cute art more than realism. Simplistic, surreal is what I love, even anime styled art is a plus for me. I just didn't bother trying because of people being so critical with my work having me to always change this and that to fit there tastes and preferences. So instead each year what I do is delete or scrap my work, its sorta like a yearly thing I do so no worries. I sorta like to be perfect with everything, especially when hearing certain criticism makes me feel unpolished so it upsets me because of hearing flaws when I know I can correct them, its just it sucks when having to hear this alot. I disliked being second rate seriously. I'm not an artist who likes being known as under someone else. I really like being on top of things. I just don't understand why people go after some of my old drawings to re-tell me of flaws I'm already feel aware of. Hearing this just makes me want to correct it just by storing work away where it can't be seen. It makes me feel alot better when I can just showcase good work instead of bad work.

Also I am sorry for doing this also, I kinda erased my entire watchlist because in all honesty, I am just too busy to view every deviation that is sent to me. Also not only that, there are people who ask me to watch them just so they can get my attention. I don't like servicing fake people into my circle of good friends. I know my friends and theres not many I know who are my true friends. I barely have a handful of good friends I trust. Again I am sorry, its best that everyone is erased. Having to see certain people or having to remember who they are, distracts me to get me upset of the bad memories I had. There are days I wish I never had to go through that. I like building a clean slate by doing this and its very healthy for me.

If you really liked my work, then you must be a true fan. I thank you for that but I'm not the type who watches if your expecting me to watch you back because you watched me. It don't work like that I'm sorry. You have to earn it by being polite and patient with the people you watch. Thats how you build a good friendship. You gotta earn trust.

Still just remember, :thanks: I'm not trying to be evil by doing this. I still call alot of you guys my friends. If you really in all honesty want me to look at your work, just note me privately. I will look at it but if your asking for critiques beware I'm not good with telling you certain things you might not want to hear. It depends if you want the truth to be sugar coated. My critiques are usually hardcore so man up and take it. If you don't want my critiques try asking someone else. This is the reason why I never ask for critiques much but only to certain professionals that know more than me.

Believe me I know how alot of you feel when trying to be perfectionists, I'm not aware that some of you look up to me like a big brother until I was told by one of my friends but I try you see to push people to go far with there art. Alot of people take my critiques abit too serious and they hate me but I did it out of love because I cared for them. I usually tell the bad and the good, its fairly balanced. Never take critiques that only point out the bad, never take those seriously. They have to be balanced k. A person should always point the bad and the good no matter what. You can tell when people like that try to troll others.

Again note me if you want me to look at your pic. Just be prepared to hear both good and bad. Btw the comic site has been changed, I apologize for that I removed the first 13 panels. Panel 14 will be where I start after. The comic will continue from that point until finished. The introduction will just have to be redone. :pc: :phew: :faint:

PS. If you really want to win me over, just show me funny comics and cute sexy anime hybrid wolf gals ^^. I have a weakness for that art.
